SSD storage has been quite expensive, and it is still, but now Intel with X25-V G2 – a 40 GB drive for around a thousand dollars. It may be appropriate for someone who has a mini computer with too little solid-state storage.

Intel X25-V 32 is available in two versions, one at 40 GB and one at 80 GB. The model of 40 GB is just over a thousand patches and are now available from dealers. A quick search on PriceSpy find X25-V 32 with a large number of traders.

As IDG writing is the letter V, for the designation of“value”. It refers to that there is an affordable model that is aimed at consumers. 40 GB might not feel so much compared to what an ordinary hard drive capacity, though that SSD is really nice in the current situation.

The unit itself is in the 2.5 inch format which allows it to fit well in notebook computers. It connects via standard S-ATA, and read / write speeds down to 170 MB / s or 35 MB / s.

Of course I drive SSD in my Asus Eee PC 901 Go and are very pleased that I chose the SSD over HDD. SSD is totally quiet, and above all can withstand the shock and to throwing around the computer.
